Norman Flynn, a columnist for RDS, has accustomed fans to very controversial statements over the past few years. Many notably remember his infamous trade suggestion at the 2019 trade deadline, where he wished that Marc Bergevin would trade none other than Nick Suzuki to acquire the veteran Wayne Simmonds.

Wow! It's fortunate for the fans that he isn't the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens!

Clearly, Norman Flynn hasn't closely followed the Tricolore's news this summer, as he repeated his mistakes in the recent minutes on BPM Sports airwaves. Indeed, in his first column of the season, Flynn warned the fans that Jeff Petry would probably be traded by Kent Hughes before the start of the regular season.

"In my opinion, Jeff Petry is going to be traded quite quickly because he has clearly indicated that he no longer wants to play for the Montreal Canadiens and that he doesn't want to play in Montreal anymore. So it's very likely we'll hear before the start of the season that he'll be traded elsewhere.

I doubt he'll play a game with Montreal, that's my thought and I believe that's what many NHL analysts also think. [...]

We just have to know where Petry will be traded before the start of the season." - Norman Flynn

One thing's for sure, Norman had a great vacation, completely disconnecting from hockey in recent months. This statement surely amused fans on social media.
