Very sad announcement from the Canadiens as they announce the passing of the guest coach at the development camp, Charly Washipabano
In 2022, for the team's development camp, the Canadiens enlisted the services of coach Charly Washipabano.
We have just learned that he has unfortunately passed away.
"The Canadiens are saddened to learn of the passing of Charly Washipabano, who dedicated his life to hockey development for the Cree Nation. Charly joined us as a guest coach during our 2022 development camp. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and community at this difficult time."
- Montreal Canadiens
A true enthusiast, always smiling, and incredibly kind, he has left us much too soon. He has touched the lives of many young hockey players.
Our deepest condolences to Charly's loved ones.
