A former Canadiens player has just been arrested by the police in connection with the Adam Johnson tragedy
The tragedy surrounding the sad death of Adam Johnson has made headlines around the world. The use of neck protection is increasingly being adopted, and several leagues have even made it mandatory, including the WHL.
Johnson was struck in the throat by a skate and succumbed to his injury at the hospital. It was former Canadiens organization member Matt Petgrave who struck him. Since the accident, an investigation has been underway, and there are changes.
Petgrave has been arrested for involuntary manslaughter, and the investigation continues.
"Our investigation started immediately after this tragedy, and we have been conducting a thorough inquiry to reconstruct the events that led to Adam's death in these unprecedented circumstances."
"We have engaged highly specialized experts to assist us in our investigations, and we continue to work closely with the municipal council's health and safety service in Sheffield, which supports our ongoing inquiry."
These are very serious allegations when someone is arrested for involuntary manslaughter. Whether there is a culprit or not, let's hope it concludes quickly so that Johnson's family and loved ones can fully grieve.
