Very sad news for the former Canadiens player, Artturi Lehkonen
This week, former Montreal Canadiens forward Artturi Lehkonen was taken to the hospital after a fairly violent head-first contact with the boards.
It was his neck and spine that took the impact. A very frightening scene, but he managed to get up on his own.
Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar provided updates on his health, and although the exact injury hasn't been disclosed, it seems it's not to the head.
However, according to the coach, Lehkonen will be out for weeks, and he's not doing very well. Considering the nature of the contact, the worst can be expected, with possibly affected vertebrae.
Let's hope he fully and quickly recovers.
