When we look at the Montreal Canadiens' prospects, one immediately thinks of defenseman Lane Hutson, who is destined for a bright future in professional hockey.

With all the skills he possesses, it's certain he will be a special player. The only concern about him is his size, but the more we see him play, the less worrisome that becomes.

Lane Hutson seems ready for the NHL. Now it remains to be seen whether Kent Hughes will be forced to leave him in Laval due to roster constraints. There are currently five defensemen (Arber Xhekaj, Justin Barron, David Savard, Kaiden Guhle, Michael Matheson) on the roster who are not exempt from waivers, which complicates things.

A slap in the face for Lane Hutson?

Playing with the Laval Rocket would be somewhat disappointing for the young player, but he would continue to develop. What is very disappointing is seeing that some of the top hockey analysts do not fully appreciate his talent.

Lane Hutson has extraordinary skating and puck-handling skills. We've seen it countless times in the NCAA, and then a few times during his brief stint with the Canadiens at the end of last season.

In a recent article, Corey Pronman claimed that Lane Hutson's puck skills are very average, which is quite surprising.

What stands out most about Lane Hutson is his play with the puck. It's when he has the puck that he shines and is at his best.

Certainly, he hasn't proven anything in the NHL yet, but to say that his puck skills are average is quite unfair. It's essentially a slap in the face.
