Acquisition: Kent Hughes got a better player than Martin Necas with AN
Martin Necas' name is on the lips of every Montreal Canadiens fan, but the price Kent Hughes will have to pay is very high.

When they reach 50 points, we are happy. It's not normal, while other teams have several forwards with more than 70-80 points year after year.
The last Canadiens player to reach 80 points was Alex Kovalev in 2008, with 84 points. It's not normal to be content with such little offense.
When a player who has already scored more than 70 points becomes available, it creates a frenzy. Necas is that type of player, but the Canadiens already have another forward with the potential to do better.

Let's give Newhook a chance to develop. That doesn't necessarily mean we shouldn't look at Necas, but simply to trust Kent Hughes.
The Canadiens' GM only paid a late 1st-round pick and another 2nd-round pick for Newhook.
He certainly won't give up a star player or high-quality picks and prospects.
