Acquisition of a solid defenseman in the Montreal Canadiens' organization
This is an acquisition that seems very promising for the Montreal Canadiens' organization.
Defenseman Jacob Paquette is joining the Lions, but he has real chances of moving up the ranks. He is tall, strong, and capable of being productive.
"The Lions of Trois-Rivières announced the signing of star defenseman Jacob Paquette.
A champion of the University Olympic Games, Jacob will undoubtedly bring stability to the defensive lineup.
Welcome to the team, Jacob!" - Lions of Trois-Rivières
Paquette was drafted in the 7th round by the Predators in 2017, and he decided to complete his college career. It's not a path that everyone follows, but it's his own.
He can now come and strengthen the Lions' defensive unit, and it wouldn't be surprising if he quickly moves up with the Rocket and is invited to the Canadiens' training camp in September.
