After the Xhekaj brothers, two more sets of brothers with the Canadien?
It was a big surprise when the Canadiens selected Arber Xhekaj's brother, Florian Xhekaj, in the 4th round of the last NHL draft.
Florian even signed a contract with the Laval Rocket to finish the season there. Barring any surprises, he will likely play there next season as well.
We shared an article from a journalist at The Hockey Writers in recent weeks suggesting that the captain's brother, Ryan Suzuki, might end up in Montreal.
Although the Hurricanes signed him to a one-year, two-way contract, he could be part of a trade bringing Martin Necas to Montreal, as he has never had his chance in the NHL.
Lane Hutson's Brother Also in the Canadiens' Sights?
In the next draft, Lane Hutson's brother, Cole, who is also very promising, is expected to be selected late in the first round.
The Canadiens could select him with the 26th pick from the Winnipeg Jets. It seems the brotherly connection runs deep!
"He has indeed surpassed records previously held by renowned players like Adam Fox, Quinn Hughes, and even his own brother, Lane Hutson." - RDT If you're wondering whether the Canadiens are seriously interested in him, here's the young man's response:
"I've spoken to them several times [Canadiens scouts]. It would be an incredible organization to be part of. Playing in that kind of market and environment where everyone lives and breathes hockey is exactly what you dream of as a kid." - Cole Hutson Exciting times ahead in the coming weeks!
