Even if they are not NHL-caliber players, they make preseason games and affiliate club games much more interesting. One of these players who was always greatly appreciated by Habs fans is John Parker-Jones, a 6-foot-7, 230-pound defenseman.
However, the Los Angeles Kings have just announced two signings. John Parker-Jones and Quebec forward Shawn Element for their affiliate club.
Shawn Element is a forward just under 6 feet tall who played for the Syracuse Crunch, the farm team of the Tampa Bay Lightning. He is a forward with potential similar to Alex Belzile, being a bit more offensive.
In the case of Parker-Jones, the 6-foot-7 defenseman played most of the season with the Trois-Rivières Lions. The defenseman brought depth on defense and toughness to the Canadiens organization.
Certainly two good acquisitions by the Los Angeles Kings and two players with interesting potential. Details will follow.
