Owen Beck with the Canadiens this season: Paul Byron plays a crucial role
The Montreal Canadiens tasked Paul Byron with guiding Owen Beck back on track several times during the season.
Paul Byron, a former Canadiens player who was promoted to a player development role this season, has often advised Owen Beck a player of the Saginaw Spirit and a prospect for the Canadiens.
Beck admitted that Byron was honest with him and that it made him a better hockey player.
"Paul is the one who helped me the most this year... He wasn't afraid to be honest with me, even if sometimes I didn't want to hear it! He made me a better player."

The young player also stated that Byron took the time to break down game footage from the 2022 2nd round draft pick and analyzed it with him.
This allowed the 6-foot attacker to improve his performance in junior hockey and adapt better to professional hockey when the time came.
It seems that Paul Byron genuinely cares about the development of young players within the organization. Fans and staff can be happy about that.
