Here is the official statement from the Trois-Rivières Lions:

Here are some details regarding the qualifying offers:

"The Trois-Rivières Lions (an affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) have revealed the list of players who have received a qualifying offer. This list includes Matthew Boucher, Justin Ducharme, Nicolas Guay, Nicolas Larivière, Eric Hjorth, William Lemay, Maxim Trépanier, and Ty Smilanic.

It is important to note that each team can protect the rights of up to eight players from the end-of-season roster announced on June 22nd.

These eight players cannot be traded. The offer submitted to them will remain active until July 22nd. However, these players can be traded after the July 22nd deadline.

If no trade occurs, the team ensures to retain the rights of these skaters for the duration of the upcoming season, regardless of any other developments."

Therefore, all eight players have received an offer, including one acquired through a transaction in 2022.

Ty Smilanic qualified by the Trois-Rivières Lions

It should be noted that Ty Smilanic was indeed acquired through a transaction by the Montreal Canadiens in the Ben Chiarot trade, which sent him to the Florida Panthers.

Smilanic was a 3rd-round pick of the Panthers in the 2020 draft, and he accumulated 7 points in 31 games this season with the Lions.

Here are the details of the transaction:

"In Montreal -

Ty Smilanic
4th-round pick 2022
1st-round pick 2023

In Florida -

Ben Chiarot"

The Panthers' 2023 1st-round pick was later traded by Kent Hughes in the Alex Newhook transaction with the Colorado Avalanche.
