An important member of the Canadiens could lose his job
For the past two years, we've seen how important the call-ups from Laval are for the Canadiens, especially given the injuries. There's a team there to support them, but unfortunately, one or more of them could lose their job.
Indeed, Jean-François Houle is doing a good job developing the Canadiens' young players. When we think about Joshua Roy, Logan Mailloux, or even Arber Xhekaj, we see that he's doing very positive things.
However, the Rocket also needs to perform. With only four games left in the season, they're fighting for survival. Making it to the playoffs isn't guaranteed, and it would be a shock if they didn't.
Rocket's GM, John Sedgwick, doesn't seem convinced that JF Houle is still the right man for the job.
"Now, the expectations were high this year, and with only four games left, the team is fighting for survival," Marcotte nuanced. "I asked John Sedgwick, the new general manager of the Rocket, about Jean-François Houle's future. He refused to say more, other than mentioning that it would be reassessed at the end of the season."
So, this will be a situation to monitor closely. JF Houle's contract expires at the end of the season, and it's worth noting that he wasn't the choice of the current CH administration; he was hired by Marc Bergevin.
