The surprise was quite significant when we learned that the Canadiens selected Florian Xhekaj with the 101st overall pick in the last amateur draft.

With 25 points in 68 games last season, that's far from impressive production. Many seemed to believe that the Habs had too many picks and didn't know what to do with them.

However, when you look at the progression of the younger Xhekaj, you realize that the organization saw something. Florian is currently on a hot streak with six straight games with at least one goal and 11 goals in his last 11 matchups.

What's most impressive is that he brings a very physical dimension and scores in various ways. Here's a beautiful one-timer.

When we talk about progression, Florian has reached 48 points in 51 games. It has nothing to do with his production from last year. He's also at +13 instead of -17 like the previous season.

Really, the Canadiens have something with this player. I was very disappointed with his selection, but it must be admitted that betting against a Xhekaj is not a good idea.
