Very good news for the Canadiens: Unexpected reinforcements will be available as early as this week
The years go by, and it's a familiar story for the Canadiens. Not only are the injuries numerous, but they are also significant. The big difference this year is that the top three forwards and defensemen are healthy.
As for depth, Kent Hughes still needs to turn to Laval. Three forwards who didn't start the season in Montreal are there now.
Regarding defense, the third pairing is yet to be confirmed, as Xhekaj and Harris play musical chairs. Neither of them is forcing the organization to keep them in the lineup at the moment.
With the significant injury Harris suffered, it was believed that the sheriff would have all the space he needed, but that's not the case. The American defenseman was already back in full-contact training this Sunday.
This is excellent news because it was thought he had a severe concussion and would miss much more time. Internal competition is essential for everyone to give an extra effort. It's very reassuring to see him back already. He might be available for Wednesday night's game.
