There is currently a new face at the Canadiens' rookie camp, and young goalie Matteo Drobac is looking to make a name for himself.

Indeed, the former teammate of Arber Xhekaj and Florian Xhekaj with the Bulldogs in the OHL has been called in on an invitation from the Canadiens, following Quentin Miller's injury.

According to what we've learned, Miller will need surgery and will miss five months of activity due to his shoulder injury. It's a disaster!

For a young player in the midst of development like him, especially with several strong goalies emerging within the Canadiens organization, this is likely the worst news.

The goalie from the Rimouski Océanic in the QMJHL had a solid 2023-24 season, with a record of 10-4-0, a 2.60 goals-against average, and a .917 save percentage.

Drafted in the 4th round in 2023, 128th overall, the 19-year-old will need to carve out a spot among some big names in the Canadiens' prospect pool, such as Jacob Fowler and Yevgeni Volokhin, among others.

"EXCLUSIVE: I was informed that Quentin Miller will need to undergo surgery and is expected to be out for several months.

He injured his shoulder before the start of the Canadiens' rookie camp."
