It was in 2014 that the Canadiens made it to the Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Rangers, but a certain Chris Kreider collided with Carey Price, and we all know what happened next.

Kreider is a very important player for the Rangers, and he was just as crucial 10 years ago. This year, he achieved something very significant, helping his team beat the Hurricanes and reach the Conference Finals.

When asked about the incident, the then-head coach of the Canadiens, Michel Therrien, had high expectations for his team.

«I had a feeling we could have made it to the Finals,» lamented the former Canadiens head coach. «I dare to believe that yes, we would have made it with Carey, but we'll never know.» - Michel Therrien

Let's recall what happened with Chris Kreider, who made contact with Carey Price with his skates first.

We now know that this sequence ultimately ended Price's career prematurely. However, he was still able to add a Stanley Cup Final appearance to his achievements before retiring.

Let's also remember Brad Marchand's comments a few weeks ago, where he mentioned that players intentionally get injured during the playoffs, as it is part of the game.

Michel Therrien made clear allusions with his statement. He certainly sends an unpopular message, but it speaks volumes.

«As far as I'm concerned, he didn't make an effort to avoid Carey,» he said. «You hear Brad Marchand's comments [who said that the goal is to injure opposing players in the playoffs]... it's a strange coincidence.» - Michel Therrien

No matter how much we restart the debate, we will never really know Kreider's intentions at that moment.
