Cayden Primeau achieved a first with the Canadiens, and it's major
Cayden Primeau has been making the most of his opportunity since the trade of Jake Allen. He stands out to the point that he has just achieved a first in Canadiens' history.
Indeed, he becomes the first backup goalie in the franchise's history to win the Molson Cup. With a record of 3-1-1 in March, he has been outstanding.
"Montreal - Goaltender Cayden Primeau is the recipient of the Molson Cup for the month of March.
Primeau was named first star twice (on March 12th against Columbus and on March 28th against Philadelphia) and third star once (on March 24th in Seattle). In five games in March, the 24-year-old goaltender posted a record of 3-1-1 with a goals-against average of 1.97 and a save percentage of .939. Primeau also recorded his second NHL shutout on March 12th against Columbus.
A presentation honoring the Molson Cup recipient for the month of March will take place before Tuesday night's game against the Florida Panthers at the Bell Centre." - Montreal Canadiens
A well-deserved honor for Cayden, who has been remarkably standout over the past month. He is even in discussions among fans to potentially become the team's future number one goaltender.
