Cédric Paré breaks the silence on his action that caused Patrik Laine's injury
Patrik Laine was playing his second preseason game with the Canadiens, and it did not end well for him after a violent knee contact with Cédric Paré.
It seems to be very serious, and misfortune is once again striking Laine, who will likely face a long recovery, yet again.
Cédric Paré commented on the situation after the game, and while it's not surprising, he mentioned that he had no intention of injuring Patrik Laine.
Personally, I believe him. It was a dangerous play he made, but I don't think he was targeting the Canadiens forward's knee or trying to hurt him.
It's really unfortunate for Patrik Laine, and we will impatiently wait for updates on his health status, but one thing is certain: we should not take our anger out on Cédric Paré off the ice.
The Maple Leafs defenseman should not receive threats online, nor should his mother, who was in the stands. What happened is regrettable, but it is in no way acceptable to make threats.
Cédric Paré made a dangerous play. He was about to get outplayed like a rookie, and he wanted to impress his bosses. Unfortunately, the opposite happened, and he injured Laine's knee.
But please, stop the threats and hateful messages directed at him and his mother. Hockey is a contact sport, and the risk of injury is always present.
