Alex Burrows has yet to be replaced alongside Martin St-Louis, Pascal Vincent has taken the spot vacated by Jean-François Houle, and there was also a vacancy for an assistant to Ron Choules in Trois-Rivières.
This is now a thing of the past, as former Laval Rocket player from 2018, Luc-Olivier Blain, has just been named as an assistant coach with the Trois-Rivières Lions.
With undeniable leadership, Luc-Olivier Blain is a great addition to the Lions. The organization is known for giving opportunities to less experienced coaches, and this is another prime example.
A native of Longueuil, Blain recorded four points in 12 games with the Laval Rocket in 2018. At 34 years old, he is quite young to be behind the bench.
He is seen as a potential candidate to climb the ranks within the Canadiens organization, and who knows, he might make it to the NHL one day.
So, it's a return to the big Canadiens family for Luc-Olivier Blain, but in a different role.
