Cheap shot on Lane Hutson: Arber Xhekaj launches hostilities and a powerful message to the Leafs
The Canadiens will kick off their 2024-25 season against their biggest rival tonight at the Bell Centre, and for the occasion, Arber Xhekaj had a message to deliver.
Indeed, after the events that occurred between the two teams in preseason games, we can expect things to get rough and for accounts to be settled.
First, Max Domi delivered an unnecessary blow to Lane Hutson, and then both Patrik Laine and David Reinbacher were seriously injured. In short, it's quite clear that the Leafs' strategy is to stir things up, and the Canadiens need to respond.
That's exactly what Arber Xhekaj has done, and the towering defenseman mentions that he is ready for this challenge.
"Arber Xhekaj on whether he expects things to get heated in the games against Toronto and Ottawa this week: 'I think that with or without what happened in preseason, it would be the case.
The games will be tense anyway - these are teams that don't like each other much I'm ready!'"

The sheriff is on a mission, and he has something to prove. He is ready to step in if the need arises. He knows it will be a tough game, and he will do what it takes to get his message across.
