Cole Caufield was ignored and that's unacceptable
Cole Caufield was not sure if he would accept Team USA's offer at the World Championship, but when GM Bill Guerin stirred the pot, the Canadiens forward changed his mind.
Indeed, Guerin strongly advised the invited players to accept if they wanted to increase their chances of participating in the 2026 Olympics. Let's just say it convinced more than one.
Whether this was the real reason for Cole's acceptance or not, he is present and was the star of his team on Tuesday in a 6-3 win.
With two goals and two assists, he was the best player on his team but was not considered the player of the game.
It was Matt Boldy who won the honor with 1 goal and 1 assist. It's causing a lot of talk.
"Cole Caufield did not win the Player of the game title for Team USA today. He scored 2 goals and 2 assists.
Matt Boldy won it. He scored 1 goal and 1 assist." - HabsOnReddit
It's an unacceptable observation, and many fans don't understand the decision.
Nevertheless, I'm sure the little forward is happy with the victory, and that's all that matters to him.
