David Savard is making headlines for a specific reason
David Savard is at the center of all trade rumors lately. While waiting for the deadline on Friday, the defenseman had a little surprise for the Nashville Predators.
Indeed, Savard scored the weirdest goal of the year, seemingly with a routine clearance.
The puck hit a stanchion on the glass and ended up in the net, while goalie Juuse Saros had come out of his net to intercept the puck behind it.
The goal is strange, yes, but the timing of the game is just as peculiar. Brendan Gallagher had just scored a fantastic goal a mere 6 seconds earlier.
The record for the two fastest goals in NHL history is set at 2 seconds, so David Savard won't make the books, but for the current season, he certainly has the award for the weirdest goal!
