Draft surprise for the Canadiens involving Cayden Lindstrom
One of the most talked-about names leading up to the June 28 draft is certainly Cayden Lindstrom, who is linked to the Canadiens and their 5th overall pick.
Indeed, if we follow most lists, Macklin Celebrini and Ivan Demidov are expected to be the top 4 forwards, and Lindstrom would be the 3rd in line for the 5th pick.
The Canadiens would then secure a powerhouse goal scorer, as evidenced by his record of 27 goals and 45 points in 32 games this season.
However, it would be quite a surprise if Ivan Demidov were still available at the 5th pick, as he is perceived to be the second-best forward, possibly even the best of his class.
After the NHL Combine, the Canadiens might already have a preference, and according to Arpon Basu, it would be Lindstrom. Well, well!
It's certain that Demidov could not attend the Combine, so he will be interviewed later in Florida by the NHL teams.
The Canadiens' opinion might change by then, but knowing Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton, the players' personalities are also important in their process.
They must have been impressed by the young Lindstrom.
