Excellent acquisition of a natural goal scorer within the Canadiens organization
Natural goal scorers are very important in an organization, and the Canadiens have just made a significant move.
Indeed, one of the best players in the QMJHL, Tommy Cormier, has signed with the Trois-Rivières Lions. Last year, with the Victoriaville Tigres, Tommy scored 30 goals and 79 points in 67 games.
Overall, during his time in Victoriaville, he accumulated 82 goals and 198 points in 160 games. That's quite impressive.
"Tommy Cormier will start his first season with the Lions!
He will make a significant contribution to the Lions' offense with his innate offensive talent!
Welcome to the team, Tommy!"
- Trois-Rivières Lions
At 20 years old, Tommy was not drafted due to his small stature, standing at 5'7" and weighing 150 lbs. It's unfortunate for him, but if he were taller and heavier, he would likely have been drafted because of his pure talent.
He will undoubtedly help the Lions on offense and has a very good chance of climbing the ranks. Remember, Xavier Simoneau is the same height and is an important member of the Rocket.
