Finished in Montreal: Joshua Roy comments on his demotion to Laval, and he has the right attitude
Joshua Roy learned the sad news on Monday morning that he was being sent to the Laval Rocket and would not start the season with the Canadiens.
After playing 23 games last season, this is really disappointing, as we all thought he had a place on the team. Martin St-Louis was clear: he lost his spot.
We hear several things behind the scenes, and what came out yesterday is that Josh has an off-ice behavioral issue. He is apparently making poor decisions that are negatively impacting his on-ice performance.
I don't want to speculate further because I am not fully informed, but I can say that I hope it's nothing serious, like an addiction, and that he can resolve the situation quickly.
In any case, the main interested party commented on his demotion to Laval, and we can see that he shows great maturity, despite what is being said about him.
"It was a tough pill to swallow yesterday (the demotion to Laval), but today is a fresh start. I want to work on myself and my game. My goal is to get back with the Canadiens."

He and Logan Mailloux have pretty much the same message. Two young players full of talent, who won't remember this more difficult moment in a few years.
Both will definitely have a great career in the NHL, but we mustn't skip steps. I really hope their time with the Rocket will be beneficial.
By the way, it's already starting well, as head coach Pascal Vincent had positive comments for them.
"They were told to take the day to be disappointed, and that tomorrow it would be time to work. They were excellent today."
