First, forwards Lucas Condotta and Luke Tuch were reassigned to the Laval Rocket following the Canadiens' game against the Ottawa Senators. However, it's possible that they could be recalled for the next preseason game. Head coach Martin St-Louis hinted that some veterans might be given rest, which could create an opportunity for these players to return to the lineup for the final exhibition games.
Meanwhile, the Laval Rocket also made cuts to their roster. Forwards Xavier Cormier and Charles Savoie, along with defensemen Jacob Paquette and Cory Thomas, were released from the team. These players are likely to end up with the Trois-Rivières Lions in the ECHL.
One notable player among the cuts is Jacob Paquette, a seventh-round pick of the Nashville Predators in 2017. He played 19 games with the Lions last season, as well as six playoff games.
With these recent roster moves, the Canadiens' organization is beginning to clarify the composition of both the NHL and AHL teams ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
