Future of Jeff Gorton in Montreal: The Vice President has just made his decision
As you may have heard, Jeff Gorton is currently the subject of numerous rumors as a potential new general manager for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Jackets recently dismissed their long-time GM Jarmo Kekalainen, and they are already in search of his successor. The evident connection between Davidson, their interim GM, and Gorton leads people to believe that he might join forces with him.
However, Gorton himself has spoken on the matter, and it seems he's not going anywhere. Gorton is a proud individual, and he has a mandate with the Montreal Canadiens to complete a rebuilding process.
"Regarding Habs VP of Hockey Ops Jeff Gorton becoming a candidate to become the new Columbus GM:
"I'm told by a source close to the situation, that, as of now, Gorton intends to remain with the Canadiens to 'finish the job he started'".
So, there's no need to worry. Gorton remains with the Canadiens, and he will be there for as long as it takes to complete the reconstruction, which is excellent news!
