Bob Hartley never beats around the bush when sharing his thoughts, and he did so once again while talking about Juraj Slafkovsky.
Let's be clear, Bob is a fan of the young Slovak, and he would even give him more responsibilities. According to him, Slafkovsky will become an elite power forward in the NHL.
While Slaf found his groove offensively and produced much more consistently in the second half of the season, his play on both ends of the ice has never really been questioned.
He is very responsible, and that's what Bob Hartley has noticed. According to him, if the kid is hungry, he should be given a second plate.
He's talking about putting number 20 on the penalty kill. Juraj Slafkovsky is always very involved in his zone, blocking shots and giving his all.
Personally, I don't hate the idea, but it's not something to be taken lightly. The organization might want to manage him carefully to avoid injury. Martin St-Louis and Kent Hughes know what they're doing and certainly have a plan for him.
In any case, Juraj Slafkovsky has everything it takes to become an amazing player in the NHL. He has the fire in his eyes, the size, and the skills to score a lot of points while being very physical and responsible.
On a top line, he will be the envy of many organizations. Let's just say that we're no longer talking about Shane Wright in Montreal and that the decision to go with the Slovak first overall in 2022 was the right one.
