Logan Mailloux was spotted at Montreal's airport, leaving the city for an excellent reason.

Along with Lane Hutson, they will represent the Canadiens at the NHLPA Rookie Showcase in Virginia in the coming days.

The two defensemen will be the face of the Canadiens for this annual event, but that doesn't mean they will be in the starting lineup for the first game, far from it.

As Max Truman mentioned, the three representatives from last year did not play with the Canadiens in 2023-24, but it provides valuable experience and shows that the organization believes in them.

In short, Logan Mailloux is leaving Montreal, along with Lane Hutson, and it's for a good cause, which speaks volumes about their dedication.

The simple fact that they were already in Montreal says a lot. They could have been at home, but they were already with the Canadiens in August. I see this as very positive.

With the defensive congestion on the Canadiens' roster, I'm eager to see if there will be room for them. Logan Mailloux nearly started last season in Montreal, but the fact that he and Lane Hutson don't have to go through waivers to move to Laval could work against them.

Personally, if they have a strong training camp, I would start the season with both rookies in the lineup and have Justin Barron as the 7th defenseman.
