It's confirmed: Kent Hughes is interested in Martin Necas
Martin Necas' name is circulating a lot in Montreal rumors, and these rumors have just been confirmed.
Indeed, according to insider David Pagnotta, the Hurricanes will have to make choices.
Among these choices, they can keep two of the following three players: Seth Jarvis, Jake Guentzel, and Martin Necas.
The organization has clearly indicated that their priority is towards Jarvis and Guentzel, which shuts the door on Necas.
Necas' father also mentioned that it would be very surprising to see his son still playing for the Hurricanes next season because he wants to play on a first line and the top power play unit.
These points are accumulating to be more than just a rumor.
David Pagnotta confirms Kent Hughes' interest in Martin Necas
With their issues staying under the salary cap, the Canes will need prospects and/or draft picks in return, which also benefits the Canadiens.
"We believe several teams have varying levels of interest in Necas, notably the Calgary Flames, the Montreal Canadiens, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Nashville Predators, the San Jose Sharks, and Utah."
- David Pagnotta
We'll see if Kent Hughes will be ready to present the best offer to his counterpart Don Waddell, thus securing Nečas's services. One thing is certain, the forward has most likely played his last game in Carolina.
