It's now confirmed for Kent Hughes, and we have a final picture
For many people, it's currently vacation time, but for Kent Hughes, vacations will have to wait.
Indeed, the Canadiens' general manager has been busy today, as he signed the two restricted free agents he needed to.
It's now confirmed, and the roster is complete with the signing of Justin Barron.
"The Canadiens have agreed to terms on a two-season contract (2024-2025 to 2025-2026) with defenseman Justin Barron."
- Montreal Canadiens
Barron has often been linked to trade rumors, which still remains a possibility, but for now, if Kent Hughes doesn't complete any other transactions, we have the exact picture of the players who will be at training camp.
The general manager will have a lot of work in September and October, as there are too many defensemen available for the number of spots.
It would be unfortunate if players like Logan Mailloux or Lane Hutson end up playing in Laval by default when they deserve to be with the main team.
There will be intense competition at camp, and expect Martin St-Louis to manage rotations extensively from game to game.
