There's a lot of speculation surrounding the Jake Allen situation, and a proposal involving a one-for-one trade with Ryan Johansen for the Avalanche seems to be gaining popularity, according to Jeremy Filosa on BPM Sports.

"What could be interesting for Hughes is a deal with Colorado, who is looking for a veteran backup goalie. You take Ryan Johansen, who hasn't performed well, with his $4 million salary for next year, for Allen and a pick. Johansen actually makes $8 million per season, but Nashville pays half. It changes practically nothing on the cap, it solves the goaltending issue, adds an option to St. Louis in attack, and like Allen, his contract expires at the end of next season." - Jeremy Filosa via X/Twitter

This proposal takes into account the needs of both teams. The Canadiens, who lack depth in the attack, would get Johansen without blocking anyone in the short term.

Additionally, the Avalanche, dealing with goaltending depth issues, would benefit from Jake Allen's experience, especially with Pavel Francouz's injury and Alexandar Georgiev's injury history.

Ryan Johansen, accumulating 20 points so far this season, could also be a useful addition for the Canadiens. The proposal includes the possibility of sending Joshua Roy with the Rocket to compete for a spot in the playoffs.

As with any trade proposal, the effectiveness depends on the specific needs of the involved teams and the willingness of the parties to accept the terms.
