Kent Hughes confirms the news regarding a goaltender in the organization: Finnish goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo finally signs his contract
It's been several weeks since Kent Hughes signed Finnish goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo to a professional tryout contract with the Laval Rocket.
It must be admitted that Kasimir has been very solid since his arrival. The team's success coincided with his arrival. He has essentially stabilized what was ailing at the beginning of the season.
"The Laval Rocket announced that the team has agreed to terms on a one-year, one-way AHL contract (2023-24) with goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo." - Laval Rocket
With a record of five wins and one loss, Kaskisuo has certainly earned his contract. It also provides a good indication of the organization's plans.
In my opinion, Hughes took time to sign him because the possibility of placing a goaltender on waivers was very real. If the unclaimed goaltender ended up in Laval, it seems Kent Hughes has either decided to finish the season with three goaltenders or a trade is imminent.
In either case, it's almost safe to forget about the idea of seeing a goaltender like Jake Allen or Cayden Primeau placed on waivers.
