Kent Hughes makes a personnel move between the Montreal Canadiens and the Rocket: Jacob Perreault goes down
A bit like David Reinbacher currently, Jacob Perreault was still under the jurisdiction of the Canadian since he was injured in training camp.
Teams cannot make personnel moves in such a situation, so even if Reinbacher and Perreault were going to start in Laval, they are technically with the Canadiens.
Now recovered from his injury, Perreault has officially been transferred to the Rocket, where he will be able to officially start his season in the next few games.
«Jacob Perreault was transferred to Laval (AHL). He started the season on the injured list. »
- NHL Rosters
There is starting to be some serious congestion on offense for the Rocket, as even Sean Farrell was left out Friday night. He is ranked among the Canadiens' best offensive prospects, so that says a lot.
Add to Joshua Roy, Owen Beck, Filip Mesar and company, players like Alex Barré-Boulet and Perreault, it's starting to add up to a lot of people.
Regardless, we're keeping an eye on the situation. Juraj Slafkovsky appears to have a shoulder problem and Michael Pezzetta has yet to play this season. The Canadian is therefore just one injury away from making a recall.
Perreault was drafted 27th overall in 2020 by the Anaheim Ducks. His career best season at the professional level is in 2021-22, when he racked up 37 points in 52 games in the American League. He is only 22, so his potential is still far from being wasted.
