MAJOR: Kent Hughes breaks the silence on the situation with Martin St-Louis
It's been circulating on the web since Saturday; Martin St-Louis left the Canadiens for family reasons, related to his son. We hope everything is well on that front, and we have reasons to believe that health should be under control.
Indeed, one of Martin's three sons, Lucas, was playing hockey on Saturday night. If it had been very worrying, he would have returned to be with his family as well.
Regardless of what it is, it's not our business at this point. Martin is not here, and he has the support of the whole team and the entire nation.
Moreover, Kent Hughes commented on the situation for the first time, and several journalists rushed to cover the news.
"Kent Hughes says they've left Martin St. Louis space with his family, hoping that everything is ok. Understandably can't say much more about the situation out of respect for the family's privacy." - Eric Engels
We see that the watchword is really to leave him alone from the organization's side, and that's perfectly fine. Knowing Martin, when he can come back, no one will need to take him by the hand. He will take the first flight to rejoin the team.
