Patrik Laine in Montreal: the forward rejected a trade and it proves that he wanted to play for the Habs

Patrik Laine is now a member of the Montreal Canadiens, and he is very happy to be part of the organization.

Recently, we learned that he didn't have to waive his no-move clause because the Habs weren't on his list of teams he didn't want to go to, which is already a good thing.

According to Renaud Lavoie, there's more. The Finn actually turned down a trade before agreeing to join the Canadiens.

We don't know which team that was, but one thing is certain: he's not in Montreal by default. He truly wanted to wear the Habs' jersey.

For the Canadiens, there was minimal to no buzz about Laine at the end of last season, but since they couldn't bring in Trevor Zegras or Martin Necas, Kent Hughes turned to Patrik Laine.

You can really feel that he is highly motivated! Even his partner, the charming Jordan Leigh, asked to get a good French teacher.

It's clear that both he and his partner are super excited about this new start. Personally, I believe Patrik Laine will surprise many people this year and will fit right in.
