Kent Hughes must make at least one big acquisition this summer in terms of forwards, and the name Patrik Laine is starting to come up a lot.

The ace scorer could greatly help the Canadiens and wouldn't cost as much as other players, such as Trevor Zegras and Martin Necas.

Indeed, according to several analysts, the 26th overall pick would be almost enough. It would require adding a prospect or a young defenseman, and it would be feasible.

"Laine is a natural scorer who needs to be well surrounded. With the emergence of Nick Suzuki and Juraj Slafkosvky, and Cole Caufield's presence as a goal scorer on the left wing of the first line, the 6-foot-5 forward wouldn't have to play the role of the number one scorer with the Habs and could thrive in a more subdued role.

Moreover, he could benefit from the advice of a coaching staff that prioritizes coaching and development." - TVA Sports

Laine is comparable to Joel Armia in terms of nonchalance on the ice. Look at what Martin St-Louis did with him this year.

Now imagine what he could do with a player who has already scored more than 40 goals in a season and is only 26 years old.

Patrik Laine is a 6'5" monster who can win many battles, with a lightning shot. With less pressure, he could really unlock his potential.

Now it remains to be seen if Kent Hughes sees things the same way.
