Powerful message from Patrik Laine: It takes a lot of courage
Patrik Laine has traveled a very challenging path to finally arrive in Montreal, in good physical and mental health, and he has decided to open up.
Slowly but surely, we're hearing very positive testimonials from former teammates and coaches who have worked with him, which is very encouraging for the future with the Canadiens.
It's hard to think positively given that the player requested trades twice, first with the Jets and then with the Blue Jackets, but he had good reasons.
When there are negative leaders in a group, it affects everyone.
Now that the new Canadiens forward has overcome his demons, he's ready to talk, and he did so through a new initiative with his fiancée, Jordan Leigh.
"Laine and his fiancée announced on Instagram a new mental health initiative called From Us to You."
Patrik Laine encourages people in difficulty to ask for help. He personally struggled a lot with this but is very happy to have found the courage to do so.
"Hey, it's Patty here!
I feel that for a lot of people, there's a lot of shame, lot of being too proud to reach out and ask for help.
Always for me, I felt like I was complaining, but people, they wanna listen, they want to help.
- Patrik Laine
Such an important initiative, as mental health is a topic that will continue to gain importance. All influential people who have had problems should do as Patrik Laine has and use their popularity to give courage to those concerned.
Kudos to Patrik Laine and his fiancée for this wonderful initiative!
