Refusal of Ivan Demidov to come play with the Canadiens: major statement and the prospect alleviates concerns
Ivan Demidov was selected 5th overall this year, and Canadiens fans are very excited about his arrival in Montreal.
The prospect will honor his one-year contract in the KHL, after which he is expected to come to North America. However, some rumors suggest that he might sign an extension with SKA and remain in Russia.
This would be a complete shock in Montreal if it were to happen, and who better than the player himself to reassure everyone.
So we can disregard all the rumors suggesting that the young man might not join the Canadiens. It's his dream, and he is really looking forward to it.
With 60 points in 30 games last year and full of talent, Ivan Demidov will join the Canadiens within a year at most. It is not yet known if he will arrive at the end of the 2024-25 season, but one thing is certain, he will be part of the team for the following season.
