Regrettable gesture and concern for Joshua Roy
In recent weeks, we learned that Joshua Roy was being blamed for making bad decisions off the ice, something he absolutely must improve.
We know that this is part of becoming a good professional, and that's what he's learning to do in Laval, while he's not mature enough to be with the Canadiens according to many.
Are the rumors true? I don't know personally, but the word is getting out more and more and we had proof of it on Sunday.
Indeed, the young forward had signed a contract to go sign autographs in Vaudreuil, but he never showed up and didn't give any sign of life. It's either disappointing or worrisome.
Of course, a last-minute emergency could have happened, but we would have had news. At the time of writing, it's still radio silence, which leads one to believe that he washed his hands of it.
I dare to believe that there is a good reason and that we will learn it soon, otherwise it is a truly regrettable gesture to make fans travel for signings and not show up.
Even if he didn't feel like it, he absolutely had to honor his contract. It is very important for his own reputation and that of the organization.
I really hope that there is a logical explanation and that Joshua Roy is OK. That is what is most important.
