A performance that left a bitter taste, especially during a special evening in tribute to the Legends. The team, which seemed completely absent on the ice, should have let the Legends play, at this point...
Many criticized Martin St.Louis in this part.
Tony Marinaro was one of the first to react, followed by Jean-Charles Lajoie, who put forward an interesting theory during a radio intervention.
Here is Tony's show:
Lajoie thinks that Martin St.Louis could resign by mutual agreement with the Canadiens, specifying that even if it is not imminent, St.Louis would not stay in office if he continues to be associated with defeats. Despite his close relationship with Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton, which seems to protect him from firing, St. Louis could choose to leave on his own.
This hypothesis, also discussed by Benoît Dutrizac, raises the question of when the coach could leave the ship. Dutrizac outright questioned St.Louis' skills, suggesting he is not up to the job.
Can we just remind ourselves that the Canadiens is still rebuilding? A victory against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday and poof, Martin St. Louis is the new genius in town.
