The Canadiens announce the absence of four players, including Justin Barron who will be evaluated daily
The Montreal Canadiens announced in the final minutes that forwards Joel Armia, Christian Dvorak and defenseman Mike Matheson will be absent from today's practice, in order to receive treatment.
As for Justin Barron, he will be evaluated daily, after being the victim of a vicious hit, courtesy of New York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba.
Let's recall that Mr. Trouba will not be suspended for his gesture towards the young Montreal Canadiens defenseman.
Matheson misses another practice
The situation is a little more delicate for defenseman Mike Matheson, who seems physically compromised. Matheson missed several practices recently and even left a game last week, visibly bothered by an injury.
Despite that, he never hesitated to confront Jacob Trouba in a fight, following his gesture towards Justin Barron.
What a man! Is he the real captain of the Canadiens, in fact? Being most likely injured and dropping the gloves: you have to do it!
Injuries for Dvorak and Armia?
As for Christian Dvorak and Joel Armia, we have no information that they are injured. So it is probably just a matter of upstream treatments, to avoid a possible injury.
However, in both cases, it will be something to watch, otherwise, the Canadiens will have to recall players from the Laval Rocket, before the next game scheduled for this Saturday, against the St-Louis Blues.
