Samuel Montembeault explodes with rage and leaves the match
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault had another atrocious outing, this time against the Seattle Kraken.
With five goals conceded on ten shots, his coach, Martin St-Louis, made the decision to pull him from the game, a move that speaks volumes about the situation.
The usually reliable Montembeault had to face shots he should have stopped. Especially the fifth goal. Yes, the shot was good, but he should have stopped it, as Marc Denis pointed out.
The footage is available right here:
Tonight's mistakes could lead to doubts about his consistency. Let's just say that it's a crucial aspect for any NHL goalie.
With Cayden Primeau in good shape, the coach's choices are getting more complicated.
If Montembeault can't reverse the trend, the Habs could consider a change eventually. Too bad because things went well at the beginning of the season.
It's important for Montembeault to refocus and work on his weaknesses.
