Shocking statement about Cole Caufield and the Montreal Canadiens
The host Martin Lemay made a shocking statement about Cole Caufield and the Montreal Canadiens.
Indeed, Lemay claims that the Habs should not have selected him, suggesting that he is not useful to the Canadiens in their current slump. Excuse me?
"Martin Lemay didn't beat around the bush when describing Cole Caufield's slump. According to the BPM Sports host, the forward is a bad draft choice."
We know that Caufield hasn't been scoring as many goals as everyone would have hoped, including himself. But he has improved so much in other aspects of his game that he's becoming a much better player overall.
We also know that his goal-scoring talents haven't vanished. Caufield has been a prolific scorer at every level, even in the NHL.
Just imagine how dominant he'll be when he puts everything together the goals, the assists, and his play along the boards. He'll be an incredible player.
But Martin Lemay doesn't see it that way.
"The BPM Sports host went further on his show this afternoon. According to him, Cole Caufield isn't 'useful' to the Canadiens if he's not scoring. Lemay even goes as far as saying that Caufield is not a good draft choice for the Canadiens. He was selected 15th overall by the Habs in 2019."
In short, Martin Lemay is entitled to his opinion, but I don't share it. Caufield has tripled his number of assists and has become effective in many different aspects of the game, including his one-on-one battles.
When he starts filling the opponent's net at a rate of 40 goals per season, in addition to his new skills, he'll be very dominant.
