Surprise for Canadiens fans and departure to the KHL for Byron Froese
Just like the organization, Canadiens fans remain attached to former players, such as Paul Byron, among others.
Indeed, the former player is currently employed in player development, and everyone was delighted to see him back with the organization after his playing career.
Another Byron, perhaps less beloved by fans but who still spent two years with the organization, Byron Froese, was with the Golden Knights, and it's a real surprise to learn that he's heading to the KHL.
"Mikhail Zizlis, from Sport-Express, reports that the veteran is ready to sign a one-year contract with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the KHL." - Samuel Doiron
While this announcement isn't very shocking, it's still surprising, considering Froese had the opportunity to play with the reigning Stanley Cup champions last season for 16 games.
His departure from such an organization to join the KHL is truly unexpected. He held a veteran role with them, just as he did with the Canadiens.
