Surprising announcement from two captains, including Nick Suzuki
The NHL season is over, but hockey isn't finished for everyone. Nick Suzuki has received an invitation to join Team Canada at the World Championship.
According to reports, the Canadiens' captain has decided to decline the offer and rest. Nick has never missed a game since the start of his career, which is five years. He certainly deserves a break.
What is even more surprising is that Sidney Crosby is expected to join the team. It seems that, for a very rare occasion, a veteran player will be present.
"Dawson Mercer and Jared McCann added to Team Canada roster. Sidney Crosby is considering his invite. It sounds like Nick Suzuki and Travis Konecny have both opted not to play." - Darren Dreger, TSN We know the American team is expected to be dominant. Canada would greatly benefit from Crosby's presence to hope to win.
We will have confirmation soon. For now, we do not know if Samuel Montembeault will be the starting goaltender.
