It's a sad realization, but we have to face the facts: Tanner Pearson's future in the NHL is anything but certain. He may very well have already played his last game in the NHL.

Indeed, the veteran did not participate in the team's last two games, and the Canadiens managed to secure two victories, delivering solid performances against Seattle and Colorado.

"With 11 games left in the 2023-2024 regular season, it's legitimate to wonder if the 31-year-old veteran hasn't already played his last game with the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge.

Journalist Renaud Lavoie even believes that his career in the National Hockey League may be over." - Via TVA Sports

I tend to agree with Renaud's remarks, as Pearson is no longer the 40-point, 20-goal scorer he once was. We saw some promising flashes at the beginning of the season alongside Sean Monahan and Brendan Gallagher, but time is not on his side.

"Recall also that Tanner has suffered significant injuries, with very intense complications. Unless he signs for the league minimum, it's worrisome for other teams."

Nevertheless, he will have been appreciated in Montreal and in the NHL. A Stanley Cup winner with the Kings, Pearson is a respectable player and an equally remarkable man.

I wish him the ability to reach an agreement with another NHL team for next year. At 31, it's a bit early to retire.
