The Canadiens have reached a three-season agreement with Xhekaj
It's now confirmed; there are two Xhekajs in the extended Canadiens family! The team has just announced that Florian Xhekaj has signed his three-season entry-level contract.
This means he could join the Laval Rocket for the end of the season and should start the next campaign in Laval.
"The Canadiens have agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract (2024-25 to 2026-27) with forward Florian Xhekaj."
- Montreal Canadiens
Florian has shown significant progress in the OHL this season, amassing an impressive 65 points, including 34 goals, in 63 games. He also added 81 penalty minutes to his tally.
This is a significant improvement from his 13 goals and 25 points in 68 games last year in the same league. The Canadiens have therefore made a wise choice in drafting him, and his contract is well-deserved.
