We learned in the last few hours that Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky will be absent for a week due to an upper body injury.

This is a shame because the young 20-year-old Slovak had an excellent start to the season with six points in as many games and let's say that his presence would have been required by Martin St-Louis because the Canadiens was downgraded 7- 2 against the New York Rangers.

However, as reported by the site Danslescoulisses.com, it seems that number 20 had been carrying this injury for a few days and this was confirmed by a reputable journalist.

During his daily segment on the JiC show on TVA Sports, Renaud Lavoie declared that Slafkovsky was injured during last Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Kings.

The journalist mentions that the Habs forward fell quite heavily on his shoulder during the game against the Kings and that he possibly made things worse at that time.

We recall that Slafkovsky was in uniform against the New York Islanders two days later, but that the latter felt discomfort during training on Monday and he will be absent for a period of one week.

Let's say that the Canadiens injured situation is starting to look a lot like that of recent years, while Kaiden Guhle and Patrik Laine are already missing and we must now add the name of Justin Barron to this list, he who was a victim of the subtle Jacob Trouba during Tuesday night's thaw against the New York Rangers.
