Could Kent Hughes get some reinforcements this season? It's not impossible.
According to Michigan Daily reporter Graham Baker, in an interview with Nicolas Cloutier of TVA Sports, Montreal Canadiens prospect Michael Hage could be ready to make the jump to the NHL as soon as the season ends. According to him, if Hage maintains this level of play, he could well put on the Canadiens uniform next spring, an exceptional scenario for an 18-year-old player drafted in the middle of the first round.
If this prediction proves correct, the Canadiens could have found a future quality third center, which bodes well for the team's future.
Remember that during the last NHL draft in June in Las Vegas, the Montreal Canadiens struck a major blow by selecting Michael Hage with their second pick of the first round.
Selected outside the top-20, Hage sparked enthusiasm among many experts, who saw this selection as a real home run for the Canadiens.
A few months later, the young center proved that these expectations were well-founded.
With the University of Michigan team in the NCAA, Hage started strong, accumulating seven points, including four goals, in only six games. His coach, Rob Rassey, was full of praise, highlighting his talent with the puck and comparing him to the elite of college hockey.
He'll definitely be one to watch in the coming months!
